Ingredients

For the Homemade Brownie Mix Gift Jar:

  • A 500ml or 750ml Jar with lid, sterilised and dry
  • 180ml (3/4 cup) castor sugar
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) cake flour
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) cocoa powder
  • 2.5ml (1/2 tsp) baking powder
  • 1.25ml (1/4 tsp) salt
  • 125g Food Lover’s Market Shortcake Nuggles (*or Nuggles of choice)
  • Recipe Card (*see description or notes)

To make the brownies:

  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) milk
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) vanilla extract

Directions

For the Homemade Brownie Mix Gift Jar:

  1. Measure out the ingredients. Roughly chop the Nuggles into pieces.
  2. Layer the ingredients in the sterilized, dry jar. Seal the jar. Attached the recipe card (found in the recipe description) or create your own gift note.
  3. To make the brownies:

    1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a 20 cm square cake tin with parchment paper and non-stick spray.
    2. In a large mixing bowl with an electric beater, beat the eggs, melted butter and vanilla extract together until mixed well.
    3. Pour out the jar of dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and beat again for 3 – 4 minutes until well combined.
    4. Transfer the batter into the prepared cake tin and bake for 15 – 20 minutes until set but still gooey or 25 – 30 minutes for a more set brownie.
    5. Remove from the cake tin and cut into 16 squares. Eat warm or allow to cool and enjoy!
