Allegations that Food Lover’s Market is specifically targeting EFF members is unfounded and baseless. Further to this, we can confirm that the image used in the Twitter post by @chiefkazis is unrelated to the incident involving the dismissal
of a Jabulani Food Lover’s Market employee.
The facts related to the case are that the employee was dismissed because of under-ringing – a practice that assists customers to steal from the store by the cashier not ringing up all the products. The ex-employee in question was afforded all rights during the disciplinary process and was subsequently dismissed.
In conclusion, we wish to reiterate that the EFF has no role in labour relations matters in South Africa and is not a recognised Union. If the dismissed individual feels that they have been unfairly dismissed, they are fully entitled to contact the CCMA for assistance and relief.
