How to ensure your honey does not stick to your spoon?

Do you struggle with honey sticking to your spoon? and then getting all over your hands as you try not to waste any of the golden deliciousness? Try this nifty hack to ensure there is no wastage. Honey, maple syrup, and other sticky ingredients slip right out of measuring cups when you grease them first. Spray a thin layer of spray and cook on your spoon before dipping it into the honey, or place a bit of odorless coconut oil onto some kitchen towel and rub your spoon with that.

DIY self-raising flour:

Have you ever tried to do some impromptu midnight baking and the recipe calls for self-raising flour, but you don’t have any? What to do? Easy. Make your own self-raising flour by adding some baking powder to plain flour at a ratio of 5ml (1 tsp) baking powder to 100g plain flour. Happy baking!

Store your brown sugar in an airtight container with marshmallows

How to easily remove eggshells from your cracked eggs?

Oops, you dropped some shell into that bowl of eggs and you can’t get your fingers on that rogue piece! Are you tired of trying to fish out small unwanted pieces of eggshells in your cracked eggs? Stop trying to use a spoon or your fingers with little to no success. Use half an eggshell and hold it close to the small unwanted piece of eggshell – it will immediately attract the broken piece of shell and you can scoop it out in seconds with no mess or wastage at all.

How to make your own buttermilk?

So you didn’t buy any buttermilk? Did you know that it’s super easy to make your own, with milk and lemon juice or vinegar? In a measuring jug, mix 1 Cup of milk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice. Give it a little stir, and allow it to sit for at least 5 minutes. The milk will curdle slightly, and you can use this as a buttermilk substitute in recipes.

How to spread cold butter on toast more easily?

Your toast just popper, but you haven’t taken the butter out of the fridge – now you press and prod and ruin that fresh piece of crisp toast. Rather use a vegetable peeler (potato peeler or cheese grater) to “peel” or grate the butter, it makes a very thin piece of butter that can melt quicker on your piece of toast. Grating butter fresh out of the fridge will make the process a lot easier.
