Coming Together: A Heartfelt Salute to our FLM Family!

In the face of adversity, it is said that the true character of a community or company shines the brightest. And shine it did, as the recent taxi strike in the Western Cape brought about a remarkable display of unity, resilience, and unwavering commitment within the Food Lover’s family. As the strike’s echoes fade away, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we embarked on together and extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every individual who stood together and helped us endure. When our colleagues could not make it into the stores safely during the time of the strike, other colleagues from all areas and departments of our business hit the shop floor to fill in and keep our customers stocked with the products they needed.

Spotted here, we see a candid picture of Philip, the finance executive for the FLM retail division donning a hairnet (which suits him so well!) and crafting mouthwatering pizzas in Food Lover’s Market Bothasig store. This picture as unposed and rough-and-ready as it is encapsulates the very essence of our shared vision – to deliver healthy food to South Africa, with our people always top of mind.

The news of the taxi strike’s resolution arrived like a soothing balm, bringing relief to our daily routines and a renewed sense of normalcy. Throughout the tumultuous days, our thoughts and concerns were with each of you and your families, as we navigated the challenges brought forth by the strike. Yet, what truly warms our hearts is the remarkable spirit exhibited by our team during the trying times. The Food Lover’s Exco Team says THANK YOU to all the exceptional souls who stood shoulder to shoulder, unflinchingly dedicating themselves to the cause. We are able to deliver the best in fresh always, thanks to you, our incredible Food Lover’s family!
